About DR. SUNIL BHAT
Dr. Sunil Bhat is Senior Consultant in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation service at Mazumdar-Shaw Cancer Center of Narayana Hrudayalaya Health City. His primary interest is in Blood and Marrow Transplantation in children including the newer techniques like Haplo-identical Transplants using alpha-beta TCR depletion techniques, for which he has the largest Asian experience.
Dr. Sunil Bhat has an experience of more than 1000 transplants in children. He has over 60 publications and many book chapters to his credit. He has been a pioneer in writing up brain tumor management guidelines for Indian children and newer techniques of bone marrow transplants in children. His primary research interests are; graft vs host disease after BMT, virus specific T-Cell therapy and infections post BMT. He has been instrumental in bringing newer bone marrow transplant techniques to India including the half-matched (haplo-identical ) transplants.
